The Mad Hatter

The Mad Hatter

“Accompanied Infant/Primary school aged kids and siblings are invited to join in with cooking, dancing , games and laughing at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party whilst learning about what we need to eat to be healthy. White rabbits, Dormice, children with birthdays and Cheshire cats welcome!”

Some people say Vegans are as mad as hatters Nothing could be further from the truth – eating at least 5 portions of veg a day is better for health, the planet and of course the animals. Primary age kids must be accompanied by a parent/carer. Please arrive with hands washed and hair tied up.

Whilst Captain James Tea Cook Pirate of the Carob bean has been lurking around since the beginning of VegfestUK over 15 Years ago The Mad (veggie) Hatter mysteriously popped up seemingly from nowhere. It was a quintessentially English Garden Party on a gloriously sunny afternoon at Lord Montagu’s Beaulieu Village Fete when he first appeared and no one is quite sure from exactly which rabbit hole he popped out of or why. Rabbit holes are notoriously ubiquitous in the New Forest so wrestling with this question would be quite irrational… Absurd even.

Like Mary Poppins or Nanny McPhee he arrived on the wind, at the right time in the right place at VegfestUK Brighton, ate vegan cake and then seemingly evaporated into the sea mist.
