Jo Kidd

Jo Kidd (and her husband, Terry Thompson) are co-founders of Vegan Organics Kent, an emerging veganic agro-forestry project and earth-friendly working hub in Boughton under Blean, near Faversham, Kent. Their mission is to develop an off-grid veganic and earth-friendly working hub based on permaculture, regenerative agro-forestry and deep ecology principles; incorporating low impact building and the use of locally-sourced materials, for the benefit of humans, animals and the earth.Jo is a lifelong community activist and organiser and has been vegan since 2003 and was veggie for 21 years before that. She is the founder and lead organiser of Kent Vegan Events and set up Canterbury Vegans and Kent Vegan Parenting.Jo and Terry are the founders of the Abbot’s Mill Project (a project to develop an earth-friendly education and peace centre powered solely through non-centralised renewable energy, principally through reinstating a waterwheel on the site of the former Abbot’s Mill in Canterbury)and previously co-founded Skill net Group (now called Bemix), a social enterprise which supports people with and without learning difficulties to work together and make differences in radical ways)
