A.Marie Houser is a writer/editor, scholar, activist, and therapist-in-training whose work centralizes disability or critical animal studies, sometimes in order to explore their connections. She has published work in The Feminist Wire, The Journal of Critical Animal Studies, As It Ought to Be, and Our Hen House and served as a plenary panelist at the Animals + Writing conference in Sydney, Australia and the Decolonizing Critical Animal Studies, Cripping Animal Studies conference in Alberta, Canada. She has curated and edited an anthology of ethically charged fiction for nonhuman animals, After Coetzee: An Anthology of Animal Fictions, forthcoming yet in 2016.
