Glorious weekend at Olympia London with VegfestUK showcasing the best of veganism

24th October 2016

Visitors to Olympia London on the weekend October 22nd 23rd 2016 enjoyed a sumptuous and uplifting time at the VegfestUK London vegan festival, with a series of amazing vegan food, speakers, performers and other entertainment keep everyone informed, enlightened and entertained!

Around 15,000 people (13,500 visitors and 1,500 people working at the event) were at this hugely growing vegan lifestyle festival, which has become one of Europe’s biggest and most attractive vegan events and entered its 4th successive year at Olympia London.

Among the new exciting features of the event are the Vegan Athletes Summit on Saturday, with a number of highly achieving vegan sportspeople talking about their achievements, and a Pro-Intersectional Vegan Conference on Sunday with a number of sessions on the intersections of various social justice issues from a vegan perspective.

There was something to enjoy for almost everybody, with the VegfestUK combination of 250 stalls, 20 caterers, a Vegan Health Summit, a Vegan Activists Summit, Cookery Demos, a Living Raw Zone, Performances, a Mature Zone and a Teen Zone, striking a lovely balance between food, shopping, education, entertainment and socialising on a marvellous day out for all.

VegfestUK has also just confirmed its plan to host its first-ever vegan trade show at the same venue on the Friday October 20th 2016, followed by its hugely successful consumer event on the weekend October 21st 22nd 2017. Presenter Karin Ridgers of VeggieVision, a media partner of VegfestUK, who was presenting in the Auditorium throughout the weekend, added:

“What an incredible weekend. A great party atmosphere with a positive vegan message too. We have had feedback from so many people to say how inspired they were after the festival, no matter what their lifestyle and dietary habits too.”

“Vegan or not we welcome everyone to the VegfestUK festivals and receiving such positive feedback so far is really the icing on the egg free cake.”

“Born out of organising raves, from a small vegan festival attracting a few 100 people in Bristol 15 years ago to now hiring Olympia and having one of the biggest events in Europe. It’s an incredible journey and one that we continue to grow and hosting the UK’s first Vegan Trade Show in 2017.”

“Presenting in the main auditorium introducing our inspirational speakers from America and Europe all weekend gave me an opportunity to ask the audience some questions. It was wonderful to hear how excited and inspired so many of them were making conscious positive dietary and lifestyle changes from vegetarian to vegan, from meat eating to vegan and the people who are already vegan feeling excited and more confident too.”
