The Vegan Society
Starting in 2014 The Vegan Society will celebrate its 70th Veganniversary in what everyone hopes will be another year of phenomenal growth in the number of people discovering ethical, animal-free lifestyles. The Society continues to flourish at the front line of educating and awareness-raising around the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. They promote ways of living free from animal products for the benefit of people, animals and the environment, and the Society is a strong worldwide organisation that is pro-active in addressing vegan issues.
Their quarterly publication, The Vegan, won VegFest UK awards in 2011 and 2008 and is a professional, informative and fun magazine. The magazine aims to keep vegans everywhere in the loop with interesting articles, recipes
and reviews, as well as encouraging vegan outreach with its focus on the achievements of vegan volunteers across the UK and further afield. It is sent to all Vegan Society members every season as part of their membership. Annual membership costs very little and is a good way of giving back to the Society which works towards a world free from the exploitation of all animals.
The CEO of the Vegan Society, Jasmijn de Boo, has been nominated for the national VegfestUK 10th anniversary awards, in the category of "Best Individual Achievement of the Decade"; we wish her the best of luck!
