Chef, author, food blogger
Kerstin Rodgers, aka MsMarmiteLover, is a chef, author, food blogger and the pioneer of the underground restaurant movement in the United Kingdom. She recently was declared winner of the Guild of Food Writers' Food blogger of the year award for her food and travel blog: marmitelover.blogspot.com. She is the chef/patronne of The Underground Restaurant at her stylish home in North West London.
Kerstin was named one of the 1000 most influential Londoners by the Evening Standard. She was also nominated for the One Persons Passion award at the London Restaurant Festival awards and is a judge at the Young British Foodie awards.
Kerstin has also been featured on Trevor MacDonald's News at 10, BBC breakfast news, The Vanessa Feltz show, Live with Gabby, BBC News 24, the Kirstie Allsopp show and presented a segment on the BBC2 series ‘The Food and Drink show'. She has also been on the radio: Radio 4's ‘The Food Programme', Woman's Hour, the Chris Evans show, the George Lamb show, Bob Elms show, Irish National Radio and several regional radio stations.
In 2011 Kerstin's first book ‘Supper Club, recipes and notes from the underground restaurant' was published by Harper Collins.
Kerstin's menus are creative, changing weekly, with themes inspired by topical events and the seasons. She has set up a supper club style restaurant at Bestival for the past two years. Her recent project ‘The Secret Garden Club' teaches and show cases DIY cooking and home-grown food.
She also runs a site for supper clubs around the world (findasupperclub.ning.com).
Her blog has 100k readers per month, a twitter following of 16K (@msmarmitelover) and over 4.5k followers on her Facebook page (The Underground Restaurant).
Her writing has been published in The Independent and Guardian. Kerstin is currently writing a book on vegan food. She hasn't eaten meat for 30 years.
